After graduation from law school in 2002, Gina joined the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, LLP, where she worked as a civil litigation associate from 2002-2012. In that role, Gina gained exposure to various civil practice areas, including, contracts, torts, product liability, personal injury, workers’ compensation, employment, mass tort, and construction litigation. She tried a number of cases and argued before several courts of appeals throughout the State of Ohio. In October 2012, Gina made the difficult decision to change career paths and joined the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, under Franklin County Prosecutor, Ron O’Brien. Gina began her career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the juvenile division. After spending fourteen months as a juvenile prosecutor, Gina transferred to the grand jury unit, where she presented cases to the Franklin County Grand Jury for sixteen months. Gina then joined the adult-felony trial staff, where she tried felony-level and murder cases for five years. In March 2019, Governor DeWine appointed Gina as Judge to fill a vacant seat on the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas.
Gina brings decades of real-life and practical legal experience to the Franklin County bench. She has been in the courtroom every day for the past seven years and has watched, observed and learned every side of the law and every square inch of the courtroom. She has the unique and rare combination of experience in both the civil and criminal fields, making her an excellent candidate for judge. In short, her diverse experience stands her apart from all other candidates. More importantly, she knows and understands her role as a judge and performs her responsibilities with integrity and compassion. She works tirelessly to to achieve the right result for the people of Franklin County.
